Scandinavia & Baltic States Escorted Group Tour

Our tour starts in Copenhagen where we stay for 2 nights before boarding the train to the picturesque town of Gothenburg. We then continue to Oslo and Flåm. From here we travel through gorgeous countryside on our two day ‘Norway in a Nutshell” Tour to Bergen. We then board the Hurtigruten Ferries for our journey along the stunning coastline of Norway. During the course of “the world’s most beautiful voyage” we view majestic fjords, stunning mountains and fascinating towns. After disembarking, we travel by coach to Inari and then southbound to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. From here, we reboard the train to the vibrant city of Helsinki. Stepping back in time, we visit fascinating towns and attractions such as Tallinn, Cesis and Sigulda. After our Baltics adventure, we board the Tallink Silja Ferry for the overnight journey to Stockholm. We enjoy 2 nights here before our flight home.

This tour has been designed to operate with a minimum of 10 people and maximum of 20 people in the group.

Oslo to Flåm

Today we commence the famous ‘Norway in a Nutshell’ tour. We start with a train ride to Myrdal, where we board the Flåm Railway, one of the most beautiful and spectacular rail journeys in Europe. We cross the windswept mountain plateau, and then descend through valleys, lakes, waterfalls and forests before arriving into Flåm. Hotel Flamsbrygga (1 night)

Flåm to Bergen

Our ‘Norway in a Nutshell tour’ continues today through to Bergen. We travel by ferry along the arms of the Sognefjord, then by public bus through the dramatic Stalheim Gorge before arriving in Bergen. Scandic Nuptun (1 night)

Bergen to Norwegian Coast Voyage

Today we are taken on a guided tour of the city. We visit Fantoft Stave Church, which was originally built in 1150. Afterwards we continue to the home of Edvard Grieg, Norway’s most famous composer. We also stop at one of Bergen’s best panoramic viewpoints. In the evening we board the MS Polarlys for the start of our Hurtigruten journey along the Norwegian coastline. Outside Cabin with private facilities. (6 nights)

Norwegian Coastal Voyage

For more than a hundred years, the Hurtigruten ships have been a vital link for Norway’s coastal communities. During our journey we dock at a variety of towns and fishing villages including: Alesund, Tromso and Lofoten Island. The ship spends between two and six hours at each port, so we can briefly explore the towns before re-boarding.

Upon arrival into Kirkenes we travel by coach to Inari. We enjoy a guided tour of the Sámi Museum and Northern Lapland Nature Centre. This museum is amongst the best ethnic museums in the world. Hotel Kultahovi (1 night)
