San Francisco to Seattle - We arrive in San Francisco and board our Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle.

Sun 08:
Seattle to Anchorage - This morning Alaska Airlines takes us to Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city.

Mon 09:
Seward & Kenai Excursion (B/L) - Today we have a full day trip to Seward. The tour starts with a scenic drive along the shores of Cook Inlet and Turnagain Arm. We will make a stop at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center before continuing onto the port community of Seward. In Seward we join a small cruise through Resurrection Bay where we learn about the rich history of the area while viewing the jagged cliffs, seabirds, marine wildlife and glaciers.

Tue 10:
Anchorage to Valdez (B) - We drive along the scenic Glenn and Richardson Highways. These roads give us some of our best views of Alaska’s many glaciers.

Wed 11:
Prince William Sound Excursion (B) - Today we join a relaxing cruise on the famous Prince William Sound. This superb wilderness features several small islands, inlets, rainforests and soaring mountains. Wildlife is often spotted on the shores and in the water.
|

Thu 12:
Valdez to Fairbanks (B) - We travel north to Fairbanks along the spectacular Richardson Highway. This road has been described as a scenic wonder. It cuts through the Chugach Mountains passing waterfalls, glaciers, rivers and follows sections of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Fri 13:
Fairbanks to Denali - This morning we board the Riverboat ‘Discovery’ for a tour down the Chena and Tanana rivers. This tour provides an insight into Alaskan rural life including reindeer herding, dog sledding and fishing. This afternoon we travel down the Parks Highway to Denali National Park.

Sat 14:
Denali Wilderness Tour (B) - Early this morning we join a tour into Denali National Park. The tour provides us an opportunity to view the scenery which makes this wilderness so famous. The Preserve is also home to bear, moose, wolves, caribou and Dall Sheep.

Sun 15:
Denali to Anchorage (B) - This morning we travel the southern section of the Parks Highway back to Anchorage.
|

Mon 16:
Anchorage (B) - Set at the base of the Chugach Mountains, we have all day to explore the city. We can consider visiting the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Museum of Art, Earthquake Park or we can take a walk down to Ship Creek.
|

Tue 17:
Anchorage to Haines (B) - Today we fly with Alaska Airlines to Juneau where we board light plane for spectacular flightseeing trip over the Juneau Icefield and the Lynne Canal on the way to Haines.
|

Wed 18:
White Pass & Yukon Railroad Excursion - This morning we transfer by water taxi to Skagway where we board the famous White Pass & Yukon Railway. This is one of the most spectacular rail trips in the world. We can view breathtaking mountain panoramas, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels and historic sites. This afternoon we are free to explore the frontier town of Skagway before we return to Haines.

Thu 19:
Haines to Inside Passage - This morning we board an Alaska Marine Highway (AMHS) ferry and sail down the beautiful Lynne Canal to Juneau. In Juneau we have a brief tour of the Alaska capital before boarding a different ferry for the journey to Wrangell. During this overnight journey aboard the AMHS we will have private cabins which feature upper and lower berths, shower and toilet facilities.

Fri 20:
Inside Passage to Wrangell - Today we awake aboard our AMHS ferry and continue sailing down the Inside Passage, arriving into Wrangell.

Sat 21:
AnAn Bear Viewing Tour (B) - Today we tour to AnAn where we will have the opportunity to safely photograph black and brown bears in the wild. We start with a jetboat ride to the sanctuary, and then have a short walk to the viewing platforms. Experienced local guides accompany us during the entire tour.

Sun 22:
Stikine River Excursion (B) - We join a jetboat tour, today through the lower sections of Stikine River. This pristine wilderness features spectacular glaciers and is home to abundant wildlife.

Mon 23:
Wrangell to Inside Passage (B) - Today we board another AMHS ferry and sail south to Prince Rupert. Another night onboard the AMHS, so we will have our private cabins again. Local residents use the AMHS ferries as the only means of transport between the communities of the Inside Passage. Each vessel has different facilities, but there is always a restaurant, and often Park Rangers will provide free lectures on local wildlife and cultures.

Tue 24:
Inside Passage to Prince Rupert - This morning we arrive in Prince Rupert. The day is at our leisure to explore this friendly port town. The historic harbour is beautifully preserved at Cow Bay, and there are some great exhibits at the museum of Northern British Columbia.

Wed 25:
Prince Rupert to Prince George - Today we follow the Yellowhead route inland. Highlights of the trip include views of the Coast Mountains and Skeena River.

Thu 26:
Prince George to Jasper - Continuing along the Yellowhead route, today we enter the Rocky Mountains. On clear days there are excellent views of Mt Robson the tallest peak in the Canadian Rockies.
|

Fri 27:
Japer to Banff - Today we tour along the Icefields Parkway; one of the most spectacular highways in North America. Stops are made at various scenic points including; Athabasca Falls, Peyto Lake, Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefield Centre where we will take an Ice Explorer ride onto the Athabasca Glacier.

Sat 28:
Banff - Today we are at our leisure to explore the attractions of Banff and Banff National Park. Many are located within a short walk or public bus ride. Bow Falls, Banff Gondola, and The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel are a few that we might want to consider.

Sun 29:
Banff to Kamloops (B/L) - Today we start our two day Rocky Mountaineer Railtour. Highlights of this first day include; Yoho National Park, and the Kicking Horse Pass with its Spiral Tunnels.
|
|
Mon 30:
Kamloops to Vancouver (B/L) - Early this morning we re-board the Rocky Mountaineer train for the trip to coastal city of Vancouver. Today’s highlights include the Fraser Canyon and the Fraser River Valley.
|
|
|
Tue 31:
Vancouver - Today we are at our leisure in Canada’s most multicultural and most recent Olympic city.

Wed 01:
Victoria & Butchart Gardens Excursion - Today we tour to Victoria. The journey includes a 90 minute ferry ride through the Gulf Islands and across the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island. Arriving on the island we will make a stop at the world renowned Butchart Gardens. After a nice stroll among the flowers we continue into Victoria for a tour of the garden city. The ferry returns us to the mainland this evening.

Depart Vancouver - This afternoon we transfer to Vancouver Airport and board our departing flights.
