
The line runs from Fairbanks to Seward. Many towns and areas in the South Central and Interior regions of Alaska including Anchorage, Denali, Talkeetna, Fairbanks and Seward are linked by the Alaska Railroad. Local guides provide informative and interesting commentary.
The Alaska Railroad was amongst the first to be given a Green Star Award for their environmentally friendly practices. They continue to recycle, reduce pollution, create minimal waste materials and gain more awards.
In winter the Alaska Railroad offers a flag stop service once a week between Talkeetna and Hurricane. A flag stop service means the train stops only when signaled.
