There are a number of significant differences between our custom made holidays to Alaska and Western Canada and standard luxury cruiseship and land packages.
Access to remote and beautiful areas - many areas of Alaska such as the Wrangell Narrows and Peril Straits can simply not be accessed by large cruise vessels. Our itineraries include transportation on smaller vessels such as those operated by the Alaska Marine Highway system and CruiseWest which can navigate their way through these narrow sheltered waterways.
Small towns and communities - our itineraries generally incorporate multiple night stays in picturesque small towns like Wrangell, Petersburg, Haines and Sitka which the large cruiseships do not visit. These communities are working towns......not highly commercialised cruise ship ports. As such they provide a more realistic view of everyday life in Alaska. These towns also provide a perfect base for exploring some of the most stunning and beautiful scenery is Alaska.
Atmosphere and style - our tours are relaxed and casual. There are no formal dinners where you need to dress up.
Variety of transportation - many of our clients have found that incorporating a variety of different forms of transportation into their itineraries helps make their tours more interesting and enjoyable. Our itineraries often include a combination of rail, ferry, coach, water taxi and light plane.
