Chiloé Island Tour

We start our tour by driving from Puerto Varas to Pargua. We then board a ferry boat and cross the Chacao Channel before arriving on Chiloe Island. The main town of Castro is renowned for its succulent seafood, fine woollen handcrafts and is characterised by fleets of yellow boats and houses.

Whilst on the island we tour Caulin Bay, a nature sanctuary which is home to endangered species of birds including black necked swans and Chilean flamingos. The trip proceeds to Ancud where we will have lunch. Afterwards, we visit the Regional Museum, the Fortress of San Antonio and the market. We conclude in Peñihuil, a beautiful bay housing islets with large colonies of penguins that nest from September to March.
